Catherine “CatZilla” Dietrich is the founder and program director of the newly launched internet station Stiletto Broadcasting, a female-fronted open access radio platform focused on showcasing the issues, music, arts, businesses, charities, and personalities of Houston.
Stumbling into radio while working with the Laura Recovery Center For Missing Children in an effort to find a high school friend’s missing mother, Cat was the host of “Stiletto Radio,” which aired from 2012 until 2014 on Local Live Houston (Winner of the Houston Press Music Awards 2012 Best Station). With a casual and humorous style of talking with artists, Cat quickly gained force by interviewing many of the movers and shakers of the music and arts community in and around Houston as well as by bringing focus to the many charities and businesses that make Houston such a vibrant city.
Cat, who is known for her love of finding, interviewing, and helping young up-and-coming musicians, has supported many local artists in their national efforts; the station encourages the submission of music and aims to have the largest catalog of locally produced artists playing on air. Her interviews have spotlighted such acts as Mary Sarah Gross and Jake Worthington of “The Voice” fame, Rusty Burns (Point Blank), Larry Bagby (who also starred in the films “Walk the Line,” “Hocus Pocus,” and “Saints and Soldiers”), Kirk McKim (Pat Travers Band and Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters), John Evans, Hank Schyma, Dilana (RockStar SuperNova), and hundreds of other local musicians.
Together with Yvette Fairchild, aka Tech Ninja, they operate and maintain the best in Houston music for
